Allied with L. crenata (Nyl.) (in Lapp. Or p. 130), but apothecial thalline margin subentire, often subzeorine and eventually convex (often dirty lemon yellow, c. 0.5 millim. wide).  Moderately similar to L. scopulari, but soon different, lemon yellow thallus not reactive.  Spores in thecia 24-32, 0.009-0.014 millim. long, 0.004-5 millim. thick.
