TYPE. UNITED STATES. Florida, on trees M.L. Wilson 56 (FH-TUCK, holotype); W.W. Calkins 102 (NY, epitype designated by Tripp, Lendemer & Harris 2009).

Thallus crustose, thin, grayish-green; vegetative diaspores absent. Photobiont trentepohlioid alga. Ascomata lirellae, short, scattered, not branched; thalline margin thickened; exciple striate, blackish; disk white pruinose. Hymenium hyaline; paraphyses apically ornamented. Ascospores hyaline, ellipsoid, muriform, 88–171 × 13–30 μm.

Chemistry. K+ yellow-brown; protocetraric acid.

Substrate and Habitat. Corticolous on trees.

Distribution. Neoptropics north into eastern North America along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts; in North Carolina found along the coast.
