Life form. Lichenized fungus   

Description. Thallus crustose, olive, continuous, thin. Photobiont Trentepohlia. Ascomata perithecia, solitary, erumpent, black; ostiole lateral. Hamathecium filaments mostly unbranched. Asci 1-2-spored; ascospores hyaline to brown, muriform, 130-180(-225) x 38-50 μm; lumina cubical.

Chemistry. Not reported.

Substrate and habitat. Corticolous in forests.

Distribution. Largely pantropical; in North Carolina found throughout.
