Life habit: lichenicolous, commensalistic or parasitic, non-lichenized Ascomata: unknown Conidiomata: pycnidial, unilocular, arising singly, immersed to erumpent, subglobose, ostiolate, dark brown to blackish or bluish brown wall: paraplectenchymatous; cells: dark brown to olivaceous green, mostly angular, rarely elongate and almost hyphal conidiophores: pale brown, short, septate, occasionally branched conidiogenous cells: hyaline, pale brown or olivaceous green, integrated or discrete, terminal, holothallic, smooth or verruculose conidia: catenate (chains simple), dry, medium to dark olivaceous green or brown, simple, ellipsoid, apically and basally truncate, smooth, verruculose or verrucose Geography: cosmopolitan Substrate: thallus and apothecia of lichens. Notes: Vouauxiella is the only known genus of non-stromatic coelomycetes with a holothallic conidiogenesis.
